BOV Asset Management Limited was set up on 22 September 1995. As from the 17 August 2016, BOV Asset Management Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Bank of Valletta p.l.c., following the acquisition by Bank of Valletta p.l.c. of the 40% shareholding held by Insight Investment Management Limited, one of UK`s largest asset managers and a subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon.
BOV Asset Management Limited, which had €973 million funds under management as at 30 November 2017, is licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority to operate as a ‘Maltese Management Company’ to provide investment services and to operate as a ‘Maltese Fund Management Company’ in terms of the Investment Services Act (Marketing of UCITS) Regulations (Subsidiary Legislation 370.18).
Furthermore, on 17 March 2017, BOV Asset Management Limited had its licence extended to offer asset management service offering beyond collective investment schemes, in order to tap the growing demand for bespoke portfolio management services to professional institutional clients. BOV Asset Management Limited has three regulatory functions; Asset Management, Risk Management and Compliance.
BOV Asset Management Limited is today offering three new portfolio funds under a common contractual fund structure. These three portfolio funds can benefit from what is referred to as diversification through lower correlation as different asset classes respond differently to changing economic conditions.
